EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Construction on a new parking garage in downtown Edinburg will begin on Friday, the city of Edinburg announced.
The parking garage is the latest development in the downtown Edinburg area, following the grand opening of the new Hidalgo County Courthouse and the grand re-opening of Citrus Live.
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the parking garage is anticipated be three stories tall with 260 standard and seven accessible parking spaces.
The project is estimated to cost $6.2 million.
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Friday to mark the official start of construction on the parking garage, located on 201 N. Closer Blvd.
The project is expected to be complete by Oct. 15, 2026.
