White racists in America have been emboldened by wannabe dictator Donald Trump and his South African Apartheid immigrant handler.
With continuous dog whistles and flat-out racist comments, Trump is making sure American racists know he is on their side. He initially and immediately blamed non-whites for the plane crash in New York.
When Trump took office, he immediately waged war on DEI programs because he doesn’t want minorities to have the same advantages and privileges that being white and wealthy get you.
He is trying to dismantle the Education Department so the red states won’t have to provide equal rights to all citizens as mandated by federal laws. They will be able to discriminate against racial minorities and others they consider different.
Slowly but surely racist Republicans who surround Trump are making sure white supremacy and white privilege remain a hard fact of American life.
Trump gave a white supremacist the Medal of Freedom and fired a Purple Heart recipient a few weeks ago! Let that sink in.
With executive orders from Trump, Arlington National Cemetery has removed historical sections about prominent African-American, Hispanic and female veterans from its website, including such American patriots as Colin Powell.
Trump and Republicans are against critical race theory being taught in schools. They want to hide America’s racist history. It is no accident that schools learned about Helen Keller instead of W.E.B. Du Bois, about the Watts and L.A. riots but not about Tulsa or Wilmington, about black ghettos but not Black Wall Street. You learned about the New Deal but not about “redlining.” You learned about Tommie Smith’s fist in the air at 1968 Olympics but not that he was sent home and stripped of his medal. You learn about “black crimes,” but white criminals are never lumped together and discussed in terms of their race.
White privilege is having history rewritten so racists don’t have to acknowledge uncomfortable facts that about their racist history. Today this racism in America is perpetuated by people who refuse to learn and acknowledge these facts.
The big losers in all this are the non-white minorities who believed the lies Trump repeated over and over again and the non-white Republican politicians who support him. They have become diehard Trump worshippers while at the same time Trump doesn’t believe non-white minorities are real Americans; he has proven that with his actions with DEI and at Arlington National Cemetery.
Racists in the U.S. know they have an ally in the White House and he is surrounded by white supremacy believers who believe they are superior to all other peoples. This goes against the premise that our nation was founded on. It goes against our Constitution that guarantees equal protection for all citizens. Most importantly, it is immoral.
Trump and his administration want to rid our country of the rules and laws that have made our country the leader of the free world.
Our government works on the separation of powers and the checks and balances by the three separate, independent branches. Trump is stopping spending programs that only the legislature is legally allowed to do. Trump is disobeying court orders, he is criticizing judges who don’t worship him. Trump is trampling all over this essential part of our democracy in his attempt to be the dictator he said he would be on day one.
Republicans have become the party of one man’s personal idiosyncrasies. They hate whomever he hates. They support whatever he pushes regardless of legality. Even when he insults them and members of their families, they fall all over themselves to show their loyalty to him. Self respect, dignity and morality are completely gone from these spineless Republican politicians.
The problem becomes every American’s problem when laws become useless and the president and all his wealthy friends become all powerful.
We are in perilous times. As long as Trump keeps going the way he is, we are heading toward a Russia-like oligarchy in America.
