Commentary: MAGA misinformation

Natividad Rodriguez’s letter of April 17 keeps talking about Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the Democrats and how bad they were. She keeps going to history that is no longer relevant. She fails to mention the elephant in the room that is currently destroying our government’s system of law and order by disobeying a number of court orders. The wannabe dictator has by his action declared himself above the law.

He says Americans were dying on fentanyl and drug overdoses during Harris’ vice presidency. They were and still are dying during Donald Trump’s regime, Ms. Rodriguez’s statement is factually nullified. Cartel profits from human trafficking and drug smuggling were and are happening during Trump also, it has not stopped.

She says that during Biden-Harris nothing was done to help Ukraine. That’s a ridiculous statement. During Trump’s 2020 campaign he tried to extort Volodymyr Zelenskyy by holding back military aid in exchange for dirt on Biden. Biden strengthened NATO while Trump is talking about leaving NATO and keeping Ukraine from joining.

Currently Trump has stated that Ukraine started the war. You have to be a victim of Trump brainwashing to believe that ridiculous lie. Shameless Republican congressmen so far are apparently appeasing Trump’s siding with Vladimir Putin.

Ms. Rodriguez complains about the “billions” spent on immigrants who came across illegally. Who knows where she got that number? Whatever money we spent on these immigrants is needed to process and finally deport them because they are human beings that deserve humane treatment. This is not China or Russia.

About the price of groceries, eggs are over a dollar more expensive now under Trump than they were anytime during the Biden administration. But MAGAs are no longer talking about that, because the pathological liar is not telling them that every day over and over and over again to fool them. Day one passed and groceries are even more expensive.

Ms. Rodriguez goes as far as calling Democrats Godless and against the Bible. She apparently has turned a blind eye to her hero Trump, to the fake Christian. Trump’s many shortcomings as a Christian and as a person are public knowledge and are well documented.

Among Trump’s and co-president Elon Musk’s deeds is the cutting of funds to universities doing research on cures for cancer, tuberculosis and other diseases. How Godly is that?

Ms. Rodriguez blames Harris for overdoses on fentanyl and other drugs as if this never happened before Biden-Harris or that it’s not happening now. Our problem here in the U.S. with drugs is, as Mexico’s president indicated, our insatiable demand for these drugs. We need to resolve that problem here at home first before we blame other countries for our problem. The cartels will continue to supply our demand.

Ms. Rodriguez calls Democrats communists, while her hero has always been a big fan of Putin. Trump has a history of complimenting or supporting Putin, calling him “smart,” a “strong leader” and more over the years. This information is well known and all over the internet. When Putin “annexed” Ukraine, Trump was impressed and called him a genius.

Trump’s team of billionaires are busy cutting funds for working people. The Republican leadership has told congressmen not to hold town hall meetings. They know what they are doing is not what is what the majority of Americans want.

We have come to the point where it is no longer about Republicans or Democrats. It is about the rule of law. It is about respecting the Constitution. It is about human rights. It is about preserving our 200-year-old democratic system of government and not being sleepwalked into a dictatorship.
