BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The United States Coast Guard Corpus Christi is searching for a missing man.
At approximately 6:59 a.m., the Coast Guard received a call of a shrimp boat sinking near the LNG location in Port of Brownsville, according to a U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson.
The shrimp boat had two passengers on board. One passenger was rescued, who let authorities know of the second passenger who was aboard and needed rescuing, the spokesperson stated.
The man is described as a Hispanic, 6 feet tall, who weighs approximately 240 pounds, and was last seen wearing black shorts and a blue shirt.
The Coast Guard sent out two small rescue boats, a 33-foot vessel and a 27-foot vessel, along with an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter in search of the missing man.
A dive team was also sent out in search of the missing man and Cameron County sent out land and marine units to help with the search.
