Closures announced for Boca Chica Beach, State Highway 4

STARBASE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Boca Chica Beach and State Highway 4 will be temporarily closed this week for SpaceX testing activities.

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. ordered the closures on Wednesday, July 30.

"I have ordered the closure of Boca Chica Beach and Hwy 4 for the purpose of protecting public
health and safety during SpaceX non-flight testing activities," Trevino announced in a press release.

Two temporary checkpoints will be along State Highway 4 to enforce the order.

Anyone with proof of residence within Starbase will be granted access through the checkpoints to access their homes during testing.

Non-residents will be denied entry.

Boca Chica Beach and State Highway 4 will be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
