HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Officials from Raymondville ISD stopped by the ValleyCentral studios Wednesday to highlight the district's best programs.

ValleyCentral.com recently awarded the district the Classroom Cribs Award for its visual presentation on the programs it offers its students.

Raymondville ISD has been recognized for its exceptional programs, including a GEAR UP initiative offering two extra years of college for 25 students, a top-ranked band program, and a Health Academy with state-of-the-art equipment.

Morning anchor Daisy Martinez presents Raymondville Early College High School Principal Jesus Amaya the Classroom Cribs trophy.

The Health Academy offers programs such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy, and EKG that prepare students for the workforce.

A partnership with Texas Southmost College also provides students with transportation, devices, and a study lab.

In addition, the Mighty Bearkat band placed fourth in the UIL state competition.

Deputy Superintendent Benjamin Clinton said their success is attributed to community support and a visionary school board.

"We're so proud of what we've been able to do as a district. With the support of our school board, they allow us to do so many things. They're visionary and supportive, and you see the proof is in the pudding of what we can do," said Clinton.
