Claire's, Icing begin closing Valley stores amid bankruptcy

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Claire's, a boutique chain known for its trendy accessories and ear piercing station, is closing a large number of its stores after it filed for bankruptcy in early August.

Nearly 300 Claire's stores, including Icing, will close their doors nationwide.

The Claire's store located at Palms Crossing in McAllen has permanently closed its doors, and two other locations in the Rio Grande Valley are slated to close their doors soon.

Claire's Trenton Crossing

The Claire's located in north McAllen at the Trenton Crossing plaza is one of the nearly 300 stores that will close its doors.

Signs on the windows at the Trenton location announced a store closing sale of up to 70% off.

Claire's Trenton Crossing has not announced its last day of operations.

Icing Valle Vista Mall

Icing, a Claire's-owned brand that caters to a young adult audience, is closing nearly 60 stores nationwide.

The Icing location at the Valle Vista Mall will close its doors soon and has not announced its final day.
