City of Pharr cancels Independence Day Festival

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Pharr announced the cancellation of its Independence Day Festival.

According to the city, the heavy rain this week has contributed to the cancellation.

"Your safety and comfort always come first," the City of Pharr announced.

The Independence Day Festival was scheduled to be at Allen and William Arnold City School Park.

"The grounds remain too wet to safely host the event," the city said. "We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you at our next event."
