City of Mission celebrate Autism Awareness Month

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Mission celebrates Autism Awareness Month with an Inclusion Matters event.

The event took place on Saturday at Bannworth Park, highlighting the struggles those with autism face daily.

"Whether or not they're special needs or in the spectrum, every one of them is special and we need to bring resources together to get them to their full potential," said Norie Gonzalez, Mayor of the City of Mission.

Gonzalez added it is important for the community to have a voice and feel included and events such as this help make that possible.
