BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — City leaders in Brownsville celebrated the groundbreaking reconstruction of Old Highway 77.
A ceremony was held Tuesday morning to announce the start of the project which will have new street lanes, sidewalks, gutters and storm sewer lines.
The $13 million project is set to have new driving lanes, sidewalks, shared-use pathways and improved drainage systems.
Reconstruction of Old Highway 77 will allow for a safer driving experience while boosting nearby businesses.
According to the City of Brownsville, the project is estimated to take two years to complete.
