ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Alamo was granted $5.3 million in state funds to replace and upgrade its lift station and improve surrounding water infrastructure.

The lift station, originally built over 50 years ago on Tower Road, has deteriorated and raised health concerns for Alamo residents.

According to the City of Alamo, the $5.3 million will be used to relocate and modernize the system to improve services.

“This project has been a long time coming, and we’re grateful to our state leaders for understanding how critical this infrastructure is to Alamo,” said Mayor J.R. Garza. “This upgrade isn’t just about fixing an old system; it’s about preparing our city for future growth and protecting our residents' well-being.”

Construction is expected to launch once the state funds are distributed to the City of Alamo.
