City of Alamo celebrates annual Watermelon Festival

ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Alamo hosted its annual Watermelon Festival on Saturday.

The event was held at the Alamo Sports Complex at 600 E. Ridge Rd.

Attendees enjoyed plenty of food, rides, games, live music, and of course, watermelon.

"We have a petting zoo, arts and crafts, and carnival rides for the kids," said Lya Yllades, Communications and Events Director for the City of Alamo.

Yllades added that the city looks forward to continuing the festival and making it bigger and better each year.
