Cinemark’s Harlingen and Brownsville theaters are getting an upgrade that will make moviegoers’ experience more comfortable.
According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation registration records, both theaters’ will undergo renovations to convert the traditional seating to Cinemark’s “Luxury Loungers” recliners.
“Cinemark Luxury Loungers® recliner seats whisk you away, off the couch and into a world of comfort and relaxation,” according to the Plano-based company’s website on the recliners. “Each chair features adjustable heating, motorized headrest and footrest customization, and ultra-plush cushioning.”
The project at the Harlingen theater, located at 401 S. Expressway 83, will begin June 2 and is scheduled to be completed Sept. 26.
Meanwhile, the project at the Brownsville theater, located at the Sunrise Mall, will take a little longer as it is set to begin Aug. 4 and scheduled to be completed Nov. 28.
Both projects have the same estimated cost of $3,065,000, according to TDLR records.
Out of the eight locations in Valley, the Brownsville and Harlingen theaters will join the Cinemark theaters in Pharr and Weslaco as the only locations with reclining seating.
Attempts to reach Cinemark for additional information on the renovations were not immediately unsuccessful.
