‘Cinderella’ ballet, beloved fairytale classic, heading to McAllen

Bibbidi bobbidi boo, the “Cinderella” ballet is officially making its way to McAllen this fall as part of the World Ballet Company national tour.

The family friendly performance of the beloved fairytale is scheduled to be at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, located at 801 Convention Center Blvd., on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

“Cinderella,” a two-hour performance, will feature original choreography by Estonia’s Marina Kesler performed by a multinational cast of 40 professional dancers from 10 different countries.

“The idea was to evoke a cinematic feeling in the viewer where every gesture and scene is made clear,” Kesler said in a news release.

The performance, which is based on the version of “Cinderella” written by French author Charles Perrault, will also feature a “passionate” score by composer Sergei Prokofiev who helps bring Cinderella’s journey to life.
