Charro Days announces new soccer match tradition

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville's annual Charro Days celebration is returning with a new tradition.

The Charro Days Classic Soccer Match is a new sporting event during the Charro Days celebration that will bring two soccer teams from Brownsville and Matamoros to play a friendly match.

This year's inaugural sporting event teams are FC Brownsville and FC Gavilanes from Matamoros.

Both teams will face off on the soccer field at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 3 at the Brownsville Sports Park located on 1000 Sports Blvd.

Tickets for the match are open to the public and available to purchase.
