Celebrating Women's Veterans Day in Texas

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — On June 12 Women's Veterans Day in Texas is celebrated. In 1948, President Harry S. Truman signed into law, the Women's Armed Forces Intergration Act. Making women permanent and regular in the U.S. Armed Forces.

In 2017 Texas passed into law Texas Women's Veterans Day on June 12, the day President Truman signed the Women's Armed Forces Integration Act.

Angela Burton with Veteran Female United says the public can help the organization by, "Attending our events, donating to our organization so that we can continue financially advocate for us. Even if there may be some sort of law or piece of legislation, by writing letters to your elected officials and things like that,"
