MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge arrested a man wanted on an outstanding felony murder warrant, according to the agency's news release and Hidalgo County jail records.
On Oct. 22, Brandon Alexis Elizondo, 28, a U.S. citizen from the Highlands, Texas, arrived from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge.
Brandon Alexis Elizondo was apprehended by CBP officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge for an arrest warrant out of Harris County.After discovering Elizondo was a possible match to an active arrest warrant, CBP officers secured him.
A biometric verification confirmed Elizondo's identity, along with the active arrest warrant out of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
“CBP screens all travelers entering the United States, and we are committed to bringing wanted individuals to justice to face their criminal charges,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas.
An officer with the Mission Police Department took custody of Elizondo and transported him to the Hidalgo County jail, where he awaits extradition to Harris County.
Hidalgo County jail records show Elizondo was booked on a fugitive warrant for a murder charge out of Harris County.
Elizondo also remains on a $1 million bond, according to jail records.
