PROGRESO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man with a warrant for an alleged child sex crime out of Alamo was arrested this week in Progreso, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Richard William Patch, 83, was arrested Wednesday by CBP officers at the Progreso Port of Entry.
A spokesperson with the Alamo Police Department told ValleyCentral that an incident report on the alleged sex crime was made this year in April.

According to CBP, Patch was traveling from Progreso into the U.S. by vehicle when he was referred to CBP for two inspections, which revealed he was wanted by the Alamo police for indecency with a child by sexual contact.
"These kinds of apprehensions illustrate our border security mission and reinforce our efforts to help keep our communities safe," said Port Director Michael Martinez, Progreso Port of Entry.
Patch was turned over to the Alamo Police Department.
Hidalgo County jail records show that Patch was issued a $70,000 bond and remains in jail.
