CBP arrests woman allegedly attempting to enter U.S illegaly

HIDALGO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The U.S Customs and Border Protection officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge apprehended an undocumented woman who allegedly claimed to be a U.S. citizen.

On Wednesday, a 33-year-old woman who did not produce any form of identification and allegedly claimed to be a U.S citizen was referred to secondary inspection by a CBP officer.

CBP said that a biometric verification confirmed the woman's identity to be a Mexican citizen with prior criminal history, and previous removal orders from the U.S.

The woman was arrested for violating U.S. immigration law and allegedly trying to enter the country by fraudulent means.
