CASA hosts 2nd annual Royal Ball

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The second annual Royal Ball was hosted over the weekend with a mission to be the voice for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

The ball was held on Sunday at the Harlingen Convention Center.

Court Appointed Special Advocates organizers, also known as CASA, say that nearly 200 children, who are a part of the program, will be enjoying the event.

"It is open to the public too, not only the children in CASA. So we want to extend it, we want to help kids, and we want to let people know about CASA," said Mark Stevens, Board President at CASA of Cameron and Willacy County.

Stevens added, those interested in volunteering for the non-profit can apply at becomeACASA.org.
