Cameron County residents urged to sign up for CodeRED alerts

CAMERON COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Cameron County Emergency Communication District is reminding its residents to sign up for CodeRED emergency alert.

CodeRED is a high-speed notification service used to send information to the public, through phone calls, text messages, and emails, to help residents stay informed during an emergency.

CodeRED will help alert civilians in emergencies such as natural disasters, missing persons, hazardous materials, and incidents that officials activate.
