Cameron County PCT. 4 Back to School Backpack Giveaway

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cameron County Commissioner PCT. 4 Gus Ruiz announces the annual Back to School Bash, set for Friday, July 18.

Ruiz says 1,000 backpacks will be filled with school supplies and distributed to children from elementary to high school.

The event is set from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 26623 White Ranch Road in La Feria. Families can begin arriving at 3:30 p.m.

Each clear backpack includes a binder, notebook paper, pencils, crayons, and markers. Sunny Glen Children's Home supports the initiative. It has previously served thousands of children, providing a $50 value per backpack.
