CAMERON COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cameron County announced it has completed its first phase of the Cameron County Parks toll collection system upgrade project.

Starting Sept. 8, all operational toll collection lanes will be equipped to accept credit card payments, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.

The upgrade has been made for a convenient way to access Cameron County parks.

"Adding credit card payment options is a meaningful step toward creating a more efficient and user-friendly experience for all visitors," said Joe E. Vega, Cameron County Parks Director.

Some parks in Cameron County include the Isla Blanca Park, Cameron County Beach Access No. 5 (E.K. Atwood Park), Cameron County Beach Access No. 6, and Adolph Thomae, Jr. County Park.

"This progress reflects the vision and hard work of the Cameron County Commissioners Court and commitment to delivering practical, forward-thinking solutions that make a real difference when visiting our County Parks," Vega continued.

Renovations are currently underway at Andy Bowie Park and Cameron County Beach Access No. 3.

Once renovations are complete, Andy Bowie Park and Cameron County Beach Access No. 3 will accept credit card transactions.
