BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Eddie Treviño Jr. said he has officially filed paperwork for his reelection campaign for Cameron County judge.
Treviño, who announced in July he would seek reelection, will run in the March 2026 Democratic primary. It's unclear if he will face a Democratic opponent.
Mauro Garza, a Republican, announced his bid for the seat in June of this year.
Treviño was elected county judge in 2016.
He served on the Brownsville City Commission between 2001 and 2003, followed by a full term as mayor from 2003 to 2007.
