Cameron County celebration honors veterans, families

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cameron County Commissioner Precinct 4 Gus Ruiz and Leticia Romero with R&R Financial talk about a Veterans Day Community Celebration.

Commissioner Ruiz calls it "A Salute to Service," where veterans, past and present, and their families will be honored.

The entire community is invited to attend on Saturday, Nov 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cameron County Commissioner Precinct 4 office at 26623 White Ranch Rd. in La Feria.

There will be members from the county's veteran service office to answer questions from veterans and help them apply for benefits.

In addition, there will be music, food, and giveaways.

Ruiz says the Grand Prize will be a Yeti package valued at $1,200.
