BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cameron County hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Pump Track at Pedro "Pete" Benavides County Park.
At 7 p.m., Friday, the opening of approximately 492 feet of additional track with three jumps designed to accommodate all riders took place at the location 2055 S. Browne Rd.
The Pump Track area includes solar-powered lighting and a 12' x 24' palapa, according to a release from Cameron County.

"So being able to actually work with communities and bring assets like this that are going to give kids an outlet that you know, also, it's physical health, mental health, all of those things, kind of impacted when you're getting outdoors, recreating, exercising," said President of U.S Operations for Alliance Action Sports Experts, Jake Carsten.
