HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 3 on Wednesday night, a bill that would ban all THC products and impact the state's multi-billion-dollar hemp industry.
Gregory Solis, the owner of CBD Wellness RGV, said the THC ban would impact thousands of businesses just like his across the state. He said roughly 50% of all the products he sells contain THC.
"It's going to take away a lot of my livelihood, but I do feel for the families more so than myself because I didn't come in here just to make money, I came here to help people," Solis said.
His products are advertised to help relieve anxiety, depression, panic depression, OCD, PTSD and neurological disorders — all things that Solis says his customers will continue to suffer with once these products are no longer available.
"We're not trying to show or provide dangerous products, that's not why we're here," Solis said. "I'd invite anybody to come into the shop and just sit here for a good 30 to 45 minutes and see people that are just seeking relief who have already tried the medical route, have already tried the hospital route — these products are some of the only things that give them relief and unfortunately that's going to be taken away from them."
