Brownsville PD host ribbon cutting for Joint Tactical Facility

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Brownsville Police Department held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday for the opening of its Joint Tactical Facility.

Brownsville Chief of Police Felix Sauceda said this a monumental win for region three.

"It's a state of the art facility," Sauceda said. "One that will help us prepare for all kinds of different challenged that come at us daily. Those challenges only keep on getting harder, more persistent, more consistent and with a lot more frequency unfortunately. Its important for us to stay prepared and ready and a facility like this helps us stay prepared."

The chief said departments can now conduct trainings such as building searches and tactical trainings at the facility.

"We are very proud to be able to hold the key to this facility," he said.
