BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The first-of-its-kind 3D printed drive-thru Starbucks is now open in Brownsville, Texas.
The new store, located at 2491 Boca Chica Boulevard, next to Lotus Cafe, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday to welcome customers and thank the City of Brownsville, Chamber of Commerce, city commissioners, and Starbucks partners for their support.
The unique building was created using 3D concrete printing technology, making a 1,400-square-foot commercial shell.

The building also has solar panels by the mobile order pick-up station and on the drive-thru canopy to power the building, making it eco-friendly.
With the addition of solar panels, this building also has a unique canopy style and metal coffee bean panel designs that customers can see as they are picking up their coffee on their way out of the drive-thru.
This building is the first of its kind in the country, marking a historic moment for the City of Brownsville.
Ricky Arreola, General Manager of the newly built 3D printed Starbucks, and Eunice Benitez, District Manager of Starbucks, say they are excited and proud to be a part of the innovative project.
