Brownsville ISD Recycle Rally celebrates environmental education

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville Independent School District on Friday held its annual Recycle Rally.

This year's theme, "Our Power, Our Planet", reflects the district's dedication to environmental education and sustainability.

It brought together students from various Brownsville schools to celebrate recycling.

"We're doing some amazing things with incorporating, making sure we have more trees in our schools. In addition, we also have gardens," said Daniela Lopez Valdez, BISD School Board President. "So we're making sure that the entire process of sustainability is part of BISD because we have 37,000 kids and 6,000 employees, and if we can do our part to make the world a better place, then the impact is far greater than we can imagine."

Attendees will enjoy performances, educational presentations, and the recognition of student
achievements, all aimed at promoting recycling awareness.
