Brownsville hosts inaugural arts and literacy festival

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Brownsville is hosting its first Arts and Literacy Festival.

The festival will be taking place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Linear Park, located at East 6th Street and East Ringgold Street.

The event, organized by recent Girl Scout Graduate Avalyn Miami Macias, of Troop #2135, aims to represent the importance of celebrating local art, culture and community talent.

The Arts and Literacy Festival is a family-friendly event for all ages, which will include activities that support and encourage literacy and artistic expression.
