Brownsvile ISD presents Hecho con Amor

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville Independent School District on Tuesday held its new food show called "Hecho con Amor".

This year's show is dedicated to the theme of scratch-cooking. BISD has made it their goal to teach students the value of freshly prepared ingredients from local farms.

"They have the Gardening Club kids coming in and participating. They can see firsthand and taste what is grown locally and expose them to that, and they seem really excited," said Nancy Ortiz of Region One Service Center.

Brownsville ISD partnered with Region One, local farmers, and vendors to promote scratch cooking.
