BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brew at the Zoo is happening this Saturday at the Gladys Porter Zoo.
The annual fundraiser is nearly sold out, according to the zoo. Zoo personnel encourage the public to purchase their tickets before time runs out. The event is for guests 21 and over.
pre-sale tickets can be purchased for $35 and %50 at the gate. VIP tickets are going for $100 per person.
All proceeds will go to the Gladys Porter Zoo conservation efforts.
Ticket holders will be able to experience premium and craft beer samples and delicious food tastings from a variety of chefs and restaurants.
A few of the top Rio Grande Valley restaurants will be competing in the "feast with the beasts."
L&F Distributors worked with Gladys Porter Zoo to select a variety of light beers, perfect for the spring and summer seasons.
Guests will be able to sample 24 fun and unique craft beers, paired with delicious food tastings from renowned restaurants.
This year Brew at the Zoo has more restaurants than ever before competing for the public's vote.
Participating restaurants include: El Amigo Seafood, Golden Corral, RJs BBQ, Bubbas 33, Parrys Pizzeria & Taphouse, Chef Ricardos Tacos and Beer, Wienerschnitzel, Hooters, Buffalo Wild Wings To Go, Applebee's, Yo Mamas Cooking, Mariscos Lauro Villar, Black Bear Diner, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 3 Marias Quesadillas, Frijoles Restaurant, Jolie Petite, Cobbleheads, Cheddars Scratch Kitchen, Minios Breakfast Cafe, Reynas BBQ & Cocina, City Tortas, Surfing Crab, Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux, Texas Roadhouse and H-E-B. Los Trevi Drive Thru will also be in attendance and will be serving up delicious drinks from their Michelada Combi.
To upgrade your experience, guests can purchase VIP tickets to access the VIP only area, located close to the main stage. VIP ticket holders will also be able to participate in a private animal feeding and take a break from the main stage with a private silent disco. VIP holders will also get an exclusive beer sample.
Music for the night will be provided by EDM DJ, Akasha and rock bands Teazer, Back to Riverdale and Reserve.
Music will be live until 11 p.m.
Activities at the event include a beer pong tournament, jumbo Jenga, cornhole, a giant connect four and plenty of photo opportunities including a 360 photo booth.
New this year will be performances by Reinas de Saba and a mechanical bull.
