3 weeks ago 88

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville Public Utility Board crews have begun the demolition of Elevated Water Storage Tank No. 5, and have closed down roads as a result.

Ridgely Rd. is closed between E. 18th St. and E. 21st St. The closure is expected to last 45 days.

The tank, built in the 1960s, is being replaced to ensure continued safe and reliable water service for the community. The Southmost Elevated Storage Tank has already taken over its capacity.

This upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and reliable water system that meets all state standards.

BPUB has expressed gratitude to the community for their patience as these infrastructure improvements are underway.
