BPD: One man shot in leg, shooter at large

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) -- Brownsville police are investigating a shooting that took place Friday morning. 

Authorities responded to a call regarding a person who was shot at the 300 block of E. Madison Street, according to a release from the Brownsville Police Department. 

At the scene, the victim reported to police that they had witnessed an argument happening and later heard shots being fired.

He added he was also shot but not did see the shooter, police say. 

The victim was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg. 

No arrests have been made. Police say, the incident did not occur in Sombrero Fest. 

This is an active investigation.
