A boil water notice issued earlier this week for San Benito-area residents has been rescinded, the Military Highway Water Supply Corporation announced Wednesday.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required MHWSC to notify its customers to boil water prior to consumption after a power failure at the Joanes Road Water Treatment Plant caused a loss of system water pressure in the distribution system on Monday.
On Wednesday, MHWSC announced it had taken the necessary steps to restore the quality of water used for drinking or human consumption and rescinded its boil water notice for residents in the areas of North of FM 2520 up to Pennsylvania Ave., FM 732, FM 1577, FM 1421, Bent Tree Subd., Del Valle Subd., Resaca Santa Subd., Del Monte Subd., Lagos Subd., and other surrounding vicinities.
