HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Singer Bobby Pulido took to social media Thursday to announce that he is hanging up his performing hat and entering the world of politics.
Pulido said he has lead his music career with the people of his culture at the forefront of his mind. The now retired singer aims to run for public office in 2026.
While he did not announce what position he plans to run for or on what platform, Pulido did say that he wants to help lead his people.
During his announcement, Pulido touched on his education at St. Mary's University in San Antonio where he studied political science before changing majors and eventually pursuing a career in the music industry.
Pulido is most known for his songs "Se Murio De Amor," "Desvelado," "Como Siempre Te Sone" and more.
After 30 years in the music industry, Pulido says he is ready to retire.
His last tour will be named "Por La Puerta Grande," an ode to a saying in the bull-riding industry.
