BISD responds to social post regarding Rivera HS coaching staff

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Brownsville Independent School District responded to posts being made online against coaching staff at Rivera Early College High School.

According to the district, the recent administrative reassignments involving members of the Rivera Early College High School coaching staff are entirely independent of any allegations or ongoing investigations.

"Personnel decisions are made routinely through established procedures that prioritize
transparency, fairness, and the best interests of students. BISD remains dedicated to handling all
matters with the utmost professionalism and in strict accordance with district policies and state
laws," the district's statement read.

The statement comes just days after locals took to social media to allege that two male coaches at Rivera Early College High School had been charged with inappropriate relationships with young students.

BISD assured that while it may not comment on specific personnel issues or ongoing investigations, the main priority of the district is the safety and well-being of its students.
