HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Freddy Honda Ramirez from Pandora's Box Tattoo Shop talks about community fellowship meetings.
Ramirez says the meetings are meant to be non-judgmental. Participants share their struggles, including suicide and broken marriages, and find support.
For $10, attendees can get spiritual tattoos, fostering a sense of community and positive change. The initiative aims to counteract the negativity in the community and has seen 15 attendees at a recent meeting, with some leaving with new tattoos and a renewed outlook.
Fellowship meetings take place every other Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Pandora's Box Tattoo Shop at 413 E. Mahl St. in Edinburg.
