PHARR, Texas – AltaCair Foundation is hosting its signature fundraising event, Lucky Maverick: Bettin’ on AltaCair, on Friday, May 2.

It will take place at the Brookhaven Event Center in Pharr from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Dr. Rashmi Chandran, CEO and president of the AltaCair Foundation said Lucky Maverick will bring together South Texas leaders, change makers, and generous hearts for an evening of “bold style and meaningful giving.”

She said the event will be held against a backdrop of elegance and community impact and that guests will enjoy an elevated casino experience complete with premium cocktails, a curated food and dessert station, and immersive experience.

Chandran said it is all for a cause that uplifts the most underserved areas of the Rio Grande Valley.

“Lucky Maverick is more than an event — it’s a statement,” Chandran said. “It’s about rallying a room full of change makers to invest in something bigger than themselves — in dignity, equity, and opportunity for all.”

Chandran said this year’s celebration will feature:

  • A one-of-a-kind Hat Bar
  • A high-spirited Whiskey Toss
  • Live and silent auctions featuring exclusive items
  • Decadent food and dessert stations
  • Recognition of two distinguished honorees: Bobby Pulido and Edinburg Mayor Ramiro Garza

Chandran said tickets include casino chips, complimentary drinks, and access to all event activities. She said vailability is limited and expected to sell out. Tickets are available now at www.betonaltacair.com.

Chandran said guests are encouraged to bring their best black-tie-meets-western look — from evening wear to bold boots and statement hats.

“The atmosphere promises sophistication, generosity, and energy only the RGV can bring,” Chandran said. “Proceeds from the evening benefit the AltaCair Foundation, whose mission is to foster collaborative partnerships that address the basic health care and social needs of the underserved communities in the Rio Grande Valley.”
