Belinda Vargas and Jose Peña discuss the new Pharr Connect Innovation Center

PHARR, Texas – Pharr Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 28, 2025, for the Pharr Connect Innovation Center. 

This facility, located at 104 W Polk Ave in Pharr, used to be home to the Pharr Housing Authority but has now been completely renovated to handle Pharr’s IT department. It now serves as the centralized location for Pharr Connect, Pharr’s blazing fast and fiber internet service. 

Students attending Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD high schools have the opportunity to become interns at the Innovation Center. In an interview at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Belinda Vargas, PSJA’s director of career and technical education, explained the value of the internship program. Soon, the Pharr Connect Innovation Center will boast a showroom where residents and local businesses can stop by and experience the power of Pharr’s internet firsthand.
