BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Bechtel Corporation has thousands of workers contributing the construction of a liquified natural gas export terminal at the Port of Brownsville.

And now it wants more.

The American engineering, construction, and project management company is hosting a jobs fair in Brownsville next week.

It is looking to hire pipefitters, structural ironworkers, rebar ironworkers, combination welders, scaffold builders, crane operators and bull riggers.

The jobs fair takes place on Saturday, August 2, at 568 Springmart Boulevard, Suite 100, Brownsville, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Bechtel is currently building the first three trains for NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG project.

In June, NextDecade announced Bechtel would also construct Trains 4 and 5.

According to NextDecade, sufficient space exists at the site for development of up to ten total liquefaction trains.

This would make it potentially one of the largest LNG facilities in the world, the company says.

Four LNG vessels per week are expected to arrive at the terminal once it begins operations. The vessels will take liquified natural gas to customers in Europe and Africa.
