Back-to-back car accidents in Alamo leave 10 hospitalized

ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Up to 10 people are hospitalized following a series of car accidents that occurred Wednesday evening in Alamo, city officials say.

The City of Alamo referred the accidents as "back-to-back," happening within minutes of each other in the same area.

Authorities responded to the first accident around 6 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Expressway 83.

Eight people were transported to the hospital with no life threatening injuries.

The second accident was reported 10 minutes after the first, also on the westbound expressway lanes.

Two vehicles were involved in the second accident which left one woman in the hospital.

A third accident was reported around 7 p.m. on the intersection of Alamo Road and Business 83.

According to the city, the third accident involved two vehicles where one crashed into a business.

A driver left the scene of the third accident, leaving one person hospitalized, the city added.

Authorities are investigating to locate and identify the driver who left the scene.
