Assistant fire chief for La Feria volunteer department accused of child sex abuse

LA FERIA, Texas (ValleyCentral) —  A La Feria Assistant Fire Chief was arrested on Thursday on charges of continuous sexual abuse, according to Cameron County records.

Reynaldo Losoya was arrested on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child/victim under 14 years of age and invasive recording, records show.

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety told ValleyCentral, Losoya was arrested on Thursday by the Texas Rangers.

A La Feria city official spokesperson confirmed that Losoya worked with the volunteer fire department and is the assistant fire chief for the department.

The spokesperson added, Losoya was arrested while off duty and has not been in contact with him following his arrest.

He is booked at the Carrizalez Rucker Detention Center, where he was arraigned and issued a total bond of $175,000.
