Arrest warrant issued for man wanted in sexual assault case

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a man wanted in a sexual assault case, according to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.

The sexual assault was reported before midnight on July 9 at the Bentsen Palm Drive and Mile 7 Road intersection in Mission.

Responding deputies made contact with a woman who reported that an unknown man approached her in a truck, offered her items, and she entered the vehicle.

The woman stated that she was then physically and sexually assaulted by the man.

Investigators identified 25-year-old Leonardo Lisandro Martinez as the suspect at large.
