Argument at Raymondville sports bar turns violent

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — An argument at a sports bar in Raymondville early Saturday morning turned violent when one man stabbed another.

According to police, they arrested a man who stabbed another at the Drunk Armadillo Sports Bar around 2 a.m.

The victim told police that he and 52-year-old Gabriel Martinez, of Sebastian, were arguing when it turned physical.

After the fight, the victim said as he was walking away, Martinez followed him and then stabbed him in the torso.

The victim was transported to the EMS station in Raymondville for evaluation, then to an area hospital.

After the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Martinez. He is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His arraignment is pending.
