PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Pharr announced the return of its month-long summer internship project.
The Pharr Initiative Summer Internship aims to provide high school and college students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various city departments.
"We want to provide them an opportunity to come and engage with our city government officials from different departments, so that they can engage and see what it is that we do on a day-to-day basis," said Pharr City Manager Jonathan Flores.
Internships begin Monday, July 7th, and run through August 1st.
"Hopefully, they leave here with an immersive experience that gets them inspired and provides them with a pathway," Flores continued.
The deadline to apply for the summer internship is June 23.
Applications can be submitted on the City of Pharr website.
