Announcing two upcoming forums on AI in the Rio Grande Valley

BROWNSVILLE & MCALLEN, Texas – The Rio Grande Guardian International News Service is proud to announce it is co-hosting two forums on AI aimed at CEOs, executives, business leaders, and public officials.

Titled “Smart Cities, Smarter Economy: The Future of Automation in the Rio Grade Valley,” the forums are being held in conjunction with Allied Consulting Group Texas.

The first forum takes place at the eBridge Center for Business & Commercialization in downtown Brownsville on April 17. This forum is being co-sponsored by Brownsville-based Velox Global Solutions. Its general manager, Steve Perez, is regarded as one of the leading experts on AI in Brownsville. He will be a speaker at the forum.

The second forum takes place in the Student Union Building at South Texas College’s Pecan Campus in McAllen on April 22. Lyudmyla Dickinson, an assistant professor of economics at STC, will be a speaker at the forum. Dickinson has 20 certifications in AI, including AI in Business, AI in Marketing, Prompt Engineering, and AI Optimization. 

Both forums will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Andy Garcia, president of Allied Consulting, said the idea is to have a strategic discussion aimed at industry leaders, executives, and public officials.

“It is clear—our future depends on the decisions our region makes today. Data and AI are transforming our industries, our economies, and our communities. The time to discuss their impact is now,” Garcia said.
