An interview with RioPlex board member Carlos Garcia

MCALLEN, Texas – RioPlex is a new economic development initiative that seeks to unite the Rio Grande Valley and northern Tamaulipas. 

The group, established by CEOs and business leaders in the region, plans to strategically promote the region worldwide. The aim is to highlight economic potential, promote innovation, and attract industrial investments that benefit all communities in the region. 

RioPlex held its first board meeting at Vantage Bank in McAllen earlier this week. After the meeting had concluded, one of its board members, Carlos Garcia, gave an exclusive interview to the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service. 

“People want to join, they want to help out, and they’re asking, when is the first trip. They want to go and promote RioPlex,” Garcia said.

“So, we have something lined up for later this year in Taiwan. But we’re also thinking in the summer, maybe next month, of going to Spain and probably France. We have a group of young ladies that are specialists in international trade and investment promotion. They’re analyzing the most important countries that can invest in Texas and obviously in RioPlex.”
