ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A routine traffic stop by Alamo police led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of a large amount of narcotics, firearms, and stolen items, according to a news release from police.
The traffic stop, on Wednesday, happened at the 1000 block of Duranta Avenue. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Frank Herrera Jr., 42, Guadalupe Pena Jr., 35, and Venessa Marie Cantu, 36.
Police say the trio is affiliated with a known criminal organization operating in the area.
During the stop, officers discovered and seized the following illicit substances:
- 106 grams of cocaine
- 3.32 grams of methamphetamine
- 8.51 grams of fentanyl
- 6.34 grams of xanax
Along with the narcotics, police also recovered an iPad reported stolen from a recent vehicle theft in the city.
One .357 Magnum revolver and a bulletproof vest were also recovered during the traffic stop.
Both Herrera and Pena have prior arrests for felon in possession of a firearm.
